Ready to Serve Your Community?
Find the Volunteer Opportunity That's Right For You

We highly value our volunteers who generously provide a variety of services to their neighbors who are homeless and/or low-income. ECS is pleased to offer a variety of opportunities for people to engage with and serve people in their community.

There are a number of regular opportunities to provide much-needed services at our senior center, interim housing, and supportive housing sites, whether it’s facilitating social activities, serving meals, helping with food pantry distributions, beautifying a building, or donating much-needed supplies.

We’re also looking for skilled professionals like beauticians, manicurists, fitness instructors, and others interested in sharing their talents with our guests and residents.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities

Dinner with Grace: A collaborative ministry between Grace Cathedral and ECS
Through the preparation and sharing of a healthy meal, Dinner with Grace builds community, engenders empathy, ends isolation and combats loneliness for those served. Volunteers gather once a month to cook a filling, healthy meal and serve it with style to residents of the Mentone Hotel and the Crosby Hotel (housing programs of ECS) in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. The mission of Dinner with Grace is simple, yet transformative: bring diverse people together to discover their common humanity, and feed hungry bodies and souls. Find out more or sign up to serve here.
