Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Episcopal Community Services. While we are currently not offering volunteer opportunities at our sites because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have a variety of ways for individuals and groups who want to serve our most vulnerable neighbors.

Create Coloring and Activity Books
Access to activities to keep busy is critical for many people sheltered in place. For our seniors and clients with compromised immune systems, the need to stay inside is heightened, but a lack of activity combined with isolation is a concern. Coloring and activity books are a great way to keep people safe and engaged.

Pull together and mail in coloring and activity books for people experiencing and at-risk of homelessness, either from online resources or created by hand, if you have the ability.

Create Valentine's Day Cards
Brighten someone's day by creating and mailing in Valentine’s Day cards filled with words of encouragement for homeless and formerly homeless people who have been sheltered in place for months (through February 5, 2021 only).

Host a Drive
Hold a drive in your company or social circle to collect personal care products, books, art supplies, cleaning supplies, or school supplies and more for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Please email Emily San Nicolas to get started on any of these activities.

Deliver Meals to People Facing Food Insecurity
Food security is a prevalent concern for individuals and families experiencing or at-risk of homelessness, including those who live in our supportive housing sites. With the shuttering of many congregate meal programs and the express need to remain sheltered during the COVID-19 pandemic, food scarcity is more challenging. ECS needs dependable volunteers to retrieve pre-made meals and deliver them to our family and individual supportive housing sites.

Please email Emily San Nicolas if you are interested.

Group Activities

Virtual Volunteer Happy Hours
Does your corporate group, social club, or education organization want to engage in a team activity, but aren’t sure how to go about it or what to do during the ongoing pandemic? Participate in a Virtual Volunteer Happy Hour with ECS, where your group can learn more about the ways in which they can make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Members of the group can create activity books, holiday cards, and more and send them in or drop them off at the ECS corporate.

Please email Emily San Nicolas if you are interested.
