Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Episcopal Community Services! Due to COVID-19, we are not offering in-person volunteering at our sites, however, there are still many ways individuals and groups can help our community. If you have any questions, please contact Spandan Chakrabarti, Associate Director of Development Communications at schakrabarti@ecs-sf.org.

Create Holiday Cards

Brighten someone's day by creating and mailing in cards for the holiday season. Fill cards with words of encouragement or decorate them how you see fit. This activity is perfect for volunteers of all ages and can be scaled for large groups. Click here to sign up.

Decorate/Repurpose Gift Bags

Every year, our Annual Holiday Gift Drive ensures that everyone we serve has a gift to open during the Holiday Season, but wrapping paper is both expensive and wasteful.

Help reduce waste while brightening someone's Holiday Season! We are looking for volunteers to decorate paper grocery bags to be repurposed as holiday gift bags for our Annual Holiday Gift Drive. Feel free to decorate the bags in whatever way you see fit, but please ensure they are appropriate for all ages.

Host a Drive

Hold a drive with your company, friends, or family to furnish our participants' greatest needs! Collect personal care products, art supplies, cleaning supplies, school supplies, and more.

Have an idea for a drive that's not listed? We'd love to hear about it!

Create Coloring and Activity Books

Our participants need materials to keep them engaged while they remain indoors. Coloring and activity books are a great way to keep people safe and entertained.

Pull together and mail in activity books for people experiencing and  at-risk of homelessness. You can create these books from online resources or by hand, if you have the ability.

In-Person

Deliver Meals to People Facing Food Insecurity
Often times, many of our participants don't know where their next meal will come from. As a result, we are seeking dependable volunteers with a passion for fighting food insecurity. Volunteers will pickup and deliver meals to our supportive housing sites in the Tenderloin and SoMa.

Group Activities

Virtual Volunteer Happy Hours
Does your corporate group, social club, or educational organization want to engage in a team activity, but aren’t sure how to safely help during the pandemic? Participate in a Virtual Volunteer Happy Hour with ECS, where your group can meet virtually while aiding the community.

Create activity books, holiday cards, or put together care packages for our participants.

Have an idea for an activity that's not listed? We'd love to hear about it!
