Kenneth J. Reggio, Executive Director

Ken Reggio has served as ECS’s Executive Director since February 2002. Ken holds advanced degrees in sociology and social work and has a 26-year history of executive leadership in organizations serving people who are poor and disenfranchised, notably ECS, Catholic Charities of the East Bay, and St. Vincent DePaul Society of San Francisco.
Phil Clark, Director of Education and Employment

Phil Clark has worked with ECS for 8 years as director of housing development and special projects and brings over 25 years of executive experience in working with homeless individuals, including serving as the Executive Director of Central City Hospitality House and Kauai Hospice.
Scott Ecker, Director of Housing

Scott Ecker has been with ECS since 2001, and has managed the Support Services teams at several of our housing sites before becoming the Director of Hosuing Services for the department. Scott holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Clinical Psychology, and offers over 15 years of experience working in the community mental health and supportive housing fields.
Karen Gruneisen, Associate Director

Karen Gruneisen joined ECS in 2008. In addition to practicing employment law for over two decades, Karen has worked with many homelessness commissions and taskforces, most notably San Francisco’s Local Homeless Coordinating Board and the 14-county Northern California Homeless Roundtable. She has authored several dozen articles and reports related to homelessness.
Melanie D. Johnson, Chief Financial Officer

Melanie Johnson came to ECS in 2004 from her position as CFO at the Tides Center. Melanie holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Boston College and a M.B.A. in Finance from University of Texas at Arlington. She has over 13 years experience as CFO in both high technology and nonprofit organizations. She brings extensive financial and operational experience to ECS and also volunteers as a board member for Holy Family Day Home.
Lolita Kintanar, Director of Senior Services

Lolita Kintanar is a well-known advocate for San Francisco’s seniors and a champion for homeless seniors’ rights. Filipina herself, Lolita helps negotiate the needs of the neighborhood Filipino elders and increasing numbers of homeless seniors attending the Canon Kip Senior Center. She has served as Director for over 10 years.
David Medina S., Director of Human Resources

With a background in vocational training and employee mediation, David is also an accomplished Master of Ceremonies and Speaker. His training specialties include workforce harassment prevention, performance evaluation methodologies, and staff conflict resolution. David received his BPA degree from the University of San Francisco and an MBA degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
Lynn Nawahine, Director of Development

Lynn Nawahine is a seasoned fundraising professional bringing nearly 30 years of fundraising experience to ECS. She has served as development director or senior officer for numerous organizations, including the Lupus Foundation’s California Chapter, the American Red Cross’s Bay Area Chapter, the Greater Bay Area Alzheimer’s Association, and various hospital foundations.
Liz Pocock, Director of Housing Development and Asset Management

Liz Pocock has worked in affordable and supportive housing since 1999. Prior to joining ECS, Liz was Director of Property Management for Citizens Housing Corporation for five years. Liz spent four years working with asset management and affordable homeownership programs at the Los Angeles Community Design Center (now Abode Communities) and began her career at Community Corporation of Santa Monica. Liz holds a BFA from New York University
Kathy Treggiari, Director of ECS Shelters

Kathy Treggiari is a seasoned professional in homeless services, with 16 years of senior management experience in various agencies including Resources for Community Development, Community Housing Partnership, Harbor Homes and Lowell Transitional Living Center.
